Goodbye Isabella

At 5:15pm today, Isabella took her last breath. She died comfortably, surrounded by her family and lots of love. May an army of angels lead her into heaven.

  3. “There is surely nothing other than the single purpose of the present moment. A person's whole life is a succession of moment after moment. There will be nothing else to do, and nothing else to pursue. Live being true to the single purpose of the moment.”

  16. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family today and have been with you all throughout this entire time. I have no doubt that she is with the Army that you requested marching her into the golden gates of Heaven.

She fought with bravery and a passion that was inspiring to those who followed. I also wanted to let you know that she was not the only one displaying strength and bravery. Thank you for sharing with us via this platform for all of us to follow and share with others. I am sure that this story not only touched my life but many others who you may not have met!

  17. It was a pleasure to meet the Icatar family last night. Isabella was an inspiration to her classmates as evidenced by the messages of courage, hope, and love that decorate the walls of Marvin School.

Find comfort that Isabella is with you in spirit and watching over you every time you see a butterfly glide through the air.

    Please accept our deepest sympathy,

  28. I met Isabella once at Yach and Michael's Christmas party and was impressed by her pluck.
There is no ready closure for parents in understanding why their child dies--it being every parents' nightmare.
You were blessed to have her in your lives, though.
My hope for you is that you (and your children and family) can begin to emotionally heal--a long process at best.
Take comfort in the fact that Isabella is now at peace; she was 100% loved and adored to her last breath.

  31. As a friend of Beth's I followed Isabella's fight and want to express my deepest sympathies. I saw a quote today that said 'Even in the dark the smallest star will shine.' Through Beth's stories and seeing Isabella at the soccer field a couple weeks ago that seems fitting for her and her journey. I am heartbroken for your loss and pray you find peace over the coming days. On your darkest days I am sure she will be the light shining down on you.

  45. Julianne, Roneil, and family,

I'm terribly sorry to hear the news about Isabella. I know how much my parents loved her and it was clear when I met her myself how special she was. My brother and I have made a donation to Kids v. Cancer in her memory so hopefully a little bit of good can come from something as tragic as this. Again, our deepest sympathy, and we hope you can find comfort in the fact that you were blessed with such a great child while she was with you in the physical sense.
